The week prior to Paris-Roubaix

April 3 rd 2018 - 12:39

THE RECONNAISSANCE OF THE COBBLESTONE SECTORS

Every year, a few days before Paris-Roubaix, Thierry Gouvenou and Christian Prudhomme pay a visit to the cobblestone sectors. Their objective is to give a note corresponding to the level of difficulty of each sector with one star for the easiest to five stars for the most difficult. This classification is quite important when planning a race strategy. Pay close attention, the ratings will be revealed this evening…

CHILDREN'S DAY

Under the watchful eye of Cédric Vasseur (Cofidis Solutions Crédits Team Manager), 300 children will compete Wednesday at the historic Roubaix velodrome. Organised by the regional committee, in partnership with the Hauts-de-France region and A.S.O., this competition is open to both licensed and non-licensed riders.

The top 30 kids will race the final kilometre of Paris-Roubaix on Sunday April 8.

THE TEAMS’ RECONNAISSANCE

The teams recon will take place on Thursday and Friday. Over these two days, each team participating in Paris-Roubaix will ride a few of the cobblestone sectors to get their bikes set-up just right. From Peter Sagan to Arnaud Démare and Greg Van Avermaet, the Roubaix heroes will have never been so close to the Hell of the North.
