Garin, Coppi, Merckx, Bobet, Duclos-Lassalle, Hinault… The legend of the Queen of Classics, Paris–Roubaix, goes all the way back to 1896, predating the inaugural edition of the Tour de France by seven years. The Hauts-de-France Region, a major partner of a race that brings out tens of thousands of fans along its roads year after year, is proud to renew its support for this event. It is also proud to have stood for decades behind this great and beautiful race, which will follow in the footsteps of other major classics this year by organising a women's race a few days ahead of the men's one. Hauts-de-France, a sports and cycling hub, wishes everyone an excellent 2021 Paris-Roubaix.

After the 2020 edition was scrapped and the 2021 edition was postponed to autumn, MEL is delighted to again host the Queen of Classics in spring!
The Lille European Metropolis works on a daily basis for the benefit of the 95 towns and cities that make it up and their 1.2 million inhabitants on a daily basis. It has powers in crucial areas, such as transportation, housing, the economy, domestic waste and sport. MEL has been implementing an ambitious sport policy for several years. It fights for inclusive sport with initiatives such as releasing support funds for building or renovating sports facilities across its territory, as well as the organisation of mass events such as "MEL SPORTS", which give people in the metropolitan area the chance to attend matches of its leading clubs. It also promotes top-flight sport through its backing of 20 top-level clubs, its support for athletes building up to the Paris Olympics in the context of the "Terre de Jeux 2024" label, and as a facilitator of partnerships between athletes and businesses. Finally, MEL, an exceptional hotbed of sport, hosts big international competitions at the crossroads between sporting feats and popular celebrations. Next up, the 2023 Rugby World Cup and 2024 Olympic handball tournaments. Our towns and cities will again put the spotlight on cycling when stage 5 of the Tour de France starts here on Wednesday 6 July. Welcome to the Tour Village near MEL HQ! A big celebration is just around the corner.
